Internet Banking - New
Oceanic Bank Internet Banking platform, also know as OceanicOnline, is a secured web application that allows customers of the Bank to carry out some of their transactions online anytime, anywhere and not necessarily visit any of the Bank’s operating offices.

Own accounts: transfers among various accounts belonging to the same customer is subject to a cumulative total of N1m per day which can be executed in 5 tranches but with a maximum of N250,000.00 per tranche.
3rd Party Transfers: a maximum total of N250,000.00 per day executable at once or in 5 tranches. The five transfer counts for own accounts does not affect the count for 3rd parties, thus a customer who has exhausted his daily count for 3rd parties transfer can still move funds among his own accounts.
Security
A unique feature of the new Internet Banking is the 2 factor authentication sign-on process using Grid Cards which is first of its kind to be deployed in the Nigerian Banking Industry. At the registration stage, users will be assigned unique security token also known as Grid authentication or Grid Card which are specifically mapped to their user profiles thereby making it impossible for any access without the use of the token.
Passwords
Please note that apart from the token security, there are also 2 levels of passwords to be maintained by the user:
1. Sign on password and
2. Transaction password
The system will always prompt for a transaction password whenever the user attempts to access transactional services e.g. Transfers, Service Request
Important facts about passwords
- Both passwords are automatically changed whenever either one is reset.
- Passwords have a 90 days expiry period
- It must be complex i.e. a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters.
- You are required to type in your passwords and not copy and paste.
When changing password, the pattern or configuration must not be similar to the last 3 passwords previously used.
It is also useful to note that default input model on the Internet platform is an online keyboard. This will help check identity theft especially on publicly accessed computers. Users have an option to switch from online keyboard to computer keyboard by clicking on the ‘switch to your keyboard’ during sign-on.
